Run a Flighted Meet

A Flighted Meet is a Timed Final meet in which each event may have two levels of scoring - that is, two 1st, 2nd, 3rd, ... places. Each level or grouping is based upon the number of Athletes that actually swim the event. For example, if there are 46 athletes in the Girls 11-12 50 FREE, the fastest 23 compete against one another and the slowest 23 compete against one another. You may define the minimum number of swims required to score the event as Flighted. Go to the Entry/Scoring Preferences and specify that minimum. For example, you may specify that you must have at least 10 Athletes in an Event before it is scored as Flighted. In addition, you specify whether the flights are to be divided by seed time or by swum time.

Here is a list of steps for you to follow to setup a Flighted Meet.

Click on Set-up from the Main Menu Bar and then Meet Set-up and click on the Flighted radio button under the Meet Type Heading under Divisions - then click OK.

Click on Set-up from the Main Menu Bar and then Entry / Scoring Preferences and define the minimum number of Athletes required for a flighted event and whether the flights are to be divided by seed time or by swum time.

Click on Set-up from the Main Menu Bar and then Division/Region Names then Division and enter the names of the two Flights as Division Codes and Names. For example, enter "G" and "S" as the Division codes and "Gold" and "Silver" as the Division names. Use only slots 1 and 2 for the Flighted Division names.

That's it! Now when you Run and Score the Meet, MM will break out Place/Finish Scoring into two groups based on the flighted criteria described above.
